You're right Jason... he didn't say how to do it... but honestly the "debate" format doesn't give time for anyone to get detailed beyond what he did in that answer. He had 1 minute and that was barely enough to articulate the importance of bringing the country together.
How he'll do it rests in his approach toward policy. His article in Foreign Affairs gives one example of a policy that pulls together both sides... those who want to stop fighting wars with those who believe in a strong military. He wants both and his plan appears to provide for that reality...

He's right but he didn't say how he'd go about doing it.
Although it might not be as challenging as getting a baptist congregation to all agree on color of the carpets.
Huckabee's an interesting candidate. He just might pull this off.
