I havn't been doing a great job at keeping the site up to par lately. We just got back from a 2 day staff retreat where we discussed vision and purpose and unity and stuff and just got back with God regarding what we're up to. Cool.

Umm anyway.. I'll post back here later when my brain cools down...

Gotta love the Brackets. Would Jesus really care about basketball?

A graphic of the "Heart of God". My friend John Smith from 1stFamilyChurch in Corpus Christi (site in progress) came up with the concept of God's Heart being used to illustrate man's purposes. I've been attempting to diagram his concept. Not re-inventing the wheel, just adding nice rims.

Checking out the Live Basketball Action via Big South sports as Liberty U takes on Radford for a shot at 'the big dance' tomorrow at 2pm. This year's tournament is held at Liberty University. I must admit, I love that place.
Free Your Mind
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

If your mind is like mine you will find yourself analyzing everything. I tend to think through thoughts, actions and even facial expressions of people all of the time. Depending on things around me and how I'm feeling, this can be a great thing or it can be a hazard. When working with people I'm often reminded by this scripture that I'm in a daily easter-egg hunt. I am to find 'whatever is true...etc.' My mind is to think on the things that are positive and not negative. In life we can find ourselves drifting into a mode where all we can see is 'whatever is suspicious, whatever is out of place, whatever is uncomfortable...' Today as I work with people I'm observing who is focusing on what.

What are you focusing on today?

BLAHH
I'm ill. I believe I have some type of stomach flu. I've been weak all day. Sometimes illness can be a great reminder of how human we are and that we need to take time to take care of our bodies (although I think I caught a bug from someone). God forces us to calm down a little when we're not 'strong' enough to do as normal.
I'll spout out useless information later...

I Know You from somewhere!
Kristy and I spent the whole day together (semi) un-interruped for the first time in months. It was awesome.
As we went about our day and were among so many people, I again was in awe of God. I stopped and asked Kristy... "Have you ever thought about how fast our minds work?" As I saw so many faces, I realized my mind was processing everyone's characteristics at an incredible speed. Our minds processes faces, haircolor, skin-tones, cloting, etc. without even thinking about it. Our minds do these calculations all in a fraction of a second with the end result being that we are able to recognize faces within a second or two. As you walk through a crowd and see people, you compare them to recognized faces stored in your memory and toss out the unfamiliar in under a second... Everyone is processed so quickly and a decision is made without you even thinking about it.
Google doesn't do that much for me... I at least have to type in the data. Anyway... it's not a huge revelation that our minds are awesome, but it was for me again today a great reminder of how big my God is and how much he deserves my praises.

Romans 1:20
"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."
